Application for Textiles in Practice

I am currently studying A level Art and Textiles and I am very keen to continue to develop my knowledge and skills of textiles to degree level. I am particularly interested in studying at MMU because of the range of techniques and contexts offered and the links with industry.

Large Wall Applique Picture

Large picture based on collection of old objects made using stitch, applique and collage. The project was first inspired by my grandad's house filled with collected objects so for my final piece I decided to return to this and create a wall based on his house.

Illustration for The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

Project based on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I illustrated different scenes from the book in a variety of media. For this piece I used paper cutting, stitching and layering to create the forest and collage and computer manipulation to illustrate the character Lucy.

Secret Garden Dress

Child's dress made as part of a project on The Secret Garden using stitch drawing and cut work flower forms to suggest nostalgia and decay.
